Our Vision.

Who we are and what we do.

Recovery Idaho is a statewide recovery community organization dedicated to promoting awareness of recovery from addiction and mental illness and advocating for the resources needed to provide Idahoans with the recovery support services they need.

  • We provide training for individuals to become Recovery Coaches

  • We support recovery efforts for men and women returning from prison

  • We work toward expansion of accessible, quality recovery housing

  • We encourage recovery support for veterans, service members and their families

  • We celebrate with recovery recognition events such as Mental Health Month, Recovery Month, and Overdose Prevention Day

  • We advocate for funding for recovery community centers and other recovery support activities across the state

  • We sponsor opportunities for National Community Service to support recovery activities

Mission: Recovery Idaho is a statewide organization dedicated to increasing understanding and recognition of the reality of recovery from addiction and mental illness. We seek to be a consistent and visible statewide presence to undermine the stigma surrounding mental illness and addictions that keeps people silent and isolated, and to advocate for meaningful opportunities for people to pursue the pathway of their choice to a life in recovery.

Vision: Idahoans will understand that addiction and mental illness know no boundaries of social, economic, educational, racial, ethnic, or gender status.  They will understand that these conditions are treatable and manageable and will realize that, through recovery, people find hope, help, and meaning, and contribute in their families, workplaces, and communities.

Resources to support people in recovery will be available and visible in every community to support people on their recovery journey. Idahoans will find and create fellowship in recovery for people at all stages along their path to wellness.  Idahoans who experience addiction and mental illness will no longer die twenty five years earlier than their fellow community members.

The Organization: Recovery Idaho is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of at least 51% individuals in personal recovery and seeks a diverse funding base including federal, state, and local government funds, foundation funds, and individual donations.  Recovery Idaho will develop additional financial resources through appropriate enterprise efforts, consistent with the organizational mission.  Recovery Idaho supports and serves local community recovery efforts, serves as a clearinghouse of evidence-based and best practices in recovery support, and publicizes activities supporting recovery throughout the state. Recovery Idaho provides Recovery Coach training to persons preparing for Idaho Recovery Coach Certification.
